If you are curious about what the next step in the evolution of “wi-fi” is to be, then this will interest you.  The IEEE has just published the newest wi-fi standard, 802.22, which is being called “Super Wi-Fi”.  It takes advantage of unused bandwidth present in VHF and UHF bands allotted for television which will allow broadband internet, up to 22 Mb per channel, to be delivered up to 100 kilometers with one transmitter!  And the best part is it won’t interfere with your television’s reception!
